We believe in the power of transferring skills and knowledge from one generation to the next, and as we continue to evolve, a dynamic and experienced team now leads BSP. Our principal office is located in Cape Town, South Africa, and we maintain a representative office in Sasayama, Japan.
Our Facilities:
BSP ensures the highest quality of seafood products by utilising our modern 1500 metric ton capacity cold store and squid packing plant, as well as our sardine and mackerel processing and value-adding factory in Gqeberha, and our tuna and swordfish processing plant in Durban. The cold chain is strictly maintained every step of the way, from catch to processing, distribution, and consumption, adhering to HACCP standards, we guarantee efficient handling, freezing, and storage.
Our Fleet:
To secure the precise harvesting of targeted species, the BSP group has shareholding in fishing vessel companies including 5 squid vessels, 1 sardine vessel, 1 mackerel & linefish vessel, 1 anchovy vessel and 1 tuna pole-line vessel. These vessels play a pivotal role in catching our quotas of squid, small pelagics, large pelagics and tuna by pole-line. In total, BSP group owns and is supplied by a fleet of over 48 fishing vessels.
Our Reach:
BSP exports products worldwide, mainly Europe, USA, Southern Africa, but also Japan and Latin America. We are committed to providing cost-effective and affordable seafood products to the local market. Additionally, we supply bait to independent tuna, hake, and snoek fishing operators. BSP has access to EU-approved freezing and cold storage facilities at prominent ports in South Africa and Namibia, ensuring the integrity of our products during transit.
Our Commitment:
All our operations are fully licensed. Our South African albacore tuna pole vessels are Dolphin Safe, Earth Island Institute compliant and Marine Stewardship Council certified. Our various facilities are NRCS, EU, PPECB, HACCP and FDA approved. Blue Seas Products, Cold Store EU Reg # CG. Kwik Cool fish packing and freezing plant EU Reg # EJ.
